Most entertainment options in the Treasure Valley are on hold to encourage social distancing. Outdoor options like hiking, bike riding and skiing are popular alternatives, but if you're headed to Bogus to ski be prepared for some changes.

I'm grateful that we live in a state where, for now, we can still enjoy a meal at restaurants. We took advantage of that several times over the weekend and I noticed a common theme during each of those restaurants. Gratitude. Our servers thanked us over and over for coming to support their employer. They're worried about how a potential shut down of bars and restaurants will affect their families.

We had a conversation with one of our servers at the Old Chicago in the mall last night, who's eight year old immediately started asking him "Dad! What are we going to do since I don't have school?" He knows cabin fever will start to set in and was trying to thing of responsible outdoor options where they won't be in close quarters with large groups. He ended up telling his child "Guess we'll be at Bogus Basin a lot!"

If you're in a similar head space, we want to let you know it's not business as usual at Bogus. They're making some operational changes due to COVID-19.

Starting Monday, the lodges will only be accessible for lockers and restrooms. There will be no indoor seating and guest are encouraged to minimize the amount of time they spend in these facilities. The Double R Ranch BBQ Smokehouse will be open daily, but for grab-and-go, prepacked foods and beverages only. Bogus is encouraging guests to bring their own lunches and eat them on the outdoor plaza or at their vehicles.

Night skiing has been canceled for the rest of the season. If you're a night-only season pass holder, you will be allowed to use your pass during the day. The ski area will be open 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily and will operate on the current lift schedule for now.

Some amenities like the rental shop, ski & snowboard school, Glad Runner Mountain Coaster and tubing hill are now closed for the season.

For the latest updates from the mountain, visit the "conditions" page on Bogus Basin's website.
