Idaho is the fastest-growing state in the U.S. Which means we're starting to look like a busted can of biscuits, but are people actually happy living in Idaho?

Wallethub's team of scientists (we're assuming) put together their list of the Happiest Cities In America, and some of the results are just plain weird.

Let's start with a few neighboring cities and see how they fared:

The Happiest Cities In America

Are folks who live in Boise? Let's crunch some numbers and find out.

Ok ok ok ok, enough about them. Let's talk about us. How did Boise fare when it comes to being "happy" compared to other cities? Pretty well, actually!

Boise is #62 on the Happiest States list, and Nampa isn't far behind at #162.

So, what does it even mean for one city to be considered happier than another? These are most of the key factors considered while compiling this list:

  • Lowest depression rate amongst citizens
  • Amount of sleep on average
  • Fewest amount of hours worked
  • Highest income growth rate
  • Lowest divorce rate

All those things considered, the City of Trees fared pretty well! But with so many people moving to the area-- can we not be a little happier!? We rated just above Cape Coral, Florida and just below Nashua, New Hampshire. Which sounds lovely.

Do you agree? Are you actually happy living in the Treasure Valley? Hit us up on Facebook and let us know if you feel like these findings are accurate or total doo doo. Because we're willing to bet that some folks are going to find these numbers to be way skewed. They're probably the ones who are unhappy living here. Because of that damn traffic.
