Have you heard about Captain David Lyon?  If not, you may soon.

A military website that honors the fallen says, "Lyon’s family, friends and fellow airmen describe him as an outstanding officer, an inspiring leader and a loving family man."

He was married to another Air Force captain, and both he and his wife were deployed to Afghanistan in 2013.  Two days after spending Christmas together that year, Lyon was killed by a suicide car bomb.

He was from Sandpoint, ID, where he was a great high school athlete and beloved member of the community, and many people there want his legacy to live on.

There's a push in Sandpoint to name what's know as, "The Long Bridge" after Lyons, changing the name to "The Captain David Lyon Memorial Bridge."

State lawmakers have to approve the name change, and that could happen this spring.

Thank you troops, for all you do!
