1 Year-Old Treasure Valley Snowboarder Goes Viral
With the 2018 PyeongChang games just weeks away, you're hearing a lot about up and coming Olympic hopefuls who either live or train in the Gem State. I have a feeling that one day little Cash Rowley will be on that list!
Channel 2 introduced the Treasure Valley to Cash and her dad Nick earlier this week, but by Thursday she'd gone viral across the country! While we were having dinner after Fleet Feet's Ugly Christmas Sweater Run last night, one of my fellow runners pulled up CNN's website and said "did you see this?!" The national news outlet had also picked up the story of the 1 year-old snowboarding phenom!
Cash's parents bought her a snowboard not long after the little girl was born and were pretty confident that they could have her shredding the slopes by age of 1! They've gotten their mini used to being in the bindings and stabilizing herself on the board by towing her on a rope around their living room.
The training must have paid off, because when the little girl took her first run (two days before her first birthday) on the Bunny Hill at Bogus over the weekend, she looked like a natural!
The video that her dad, Nick, shared on YouTube on Monday has now been viewed more than 10,000 times! I won't lie, I'm kind of jealous of this little girl! I can barely stay on my tube on the Pepsi Gold Rush tubing hill at Bogus Basin (I'm the most uncoordinated human being alive.)
Mark my words, we'll see this little one in the Olympic games in about 16 years!
