Let's rally! The warm weather is coming and the food trucks are out in full force. There's just something about walking up to a food truck in the summertime and grabbing lunch then taking the rest of the day off (or is that just me?)

The top food truck events start Friday, April 21. In most of these cases, you're eating for a great cause. You can't say no to that.

I mean, we had a food truck in the parking lot at the radio station and people came in droves.

  • Food Frenzy Fundraiser - Friday, April 21 from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at the Meridian City Hall. The event will benefit the Idaho Suicide Prevention Hotline.
  • Food Truck Wednesday - Every Wednesday the food truck fleet will come together at the Cathedral of the Rockies Amity Campus on Maple Grove.
  • Idaho Gives Food Truck Rally - Thursday, May 4 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. This is part of Idaho Gives where we spend 24 hours focusing on nonprofit fundraising.
  • National Library Week Food Truck Rally - This event was originally scheduled at the Meridian City Hall on April 14 because of weather but it is being rescheduled.

For upcoming events, follow the Southern Idaho Food Truck Association (SIFTA). They say there will be around 35 food trucks around the Treasure Valley by summer.

Wanna book a food truck for your event (or wedding)? You can actually have the moving restaurant come to you instead of trying to find them. Just contact the truck directly to see if they are available. Plan to pay for the truck to be on site and cover the cost of food.

How awesome would it be to throw an event where you had a line of food trucks?
