Over the past couple of days, I've seen friends post some killer photos of their runs in the foothills on Strava. They're giving me some serious FOMO and I have a sudden urge to go explore new trails.

I'm a total klutz who once made a blood sacrifice to Sidewinder that left my knee horribly disfigured for the rest of my life. That was the first and last time that I explored some more challenging trails outside of the normal loops I know near the Military Reserve, Camel's Back Park and Harrison Hollow. Sticking close to the familiar is depriving me of some of the most gorgeous views in Boise!

According to the folks at Ridge to Rivers, we're in the prime season to see beautiful shades of purple and white from lupine plants.  You'll also get to see some really pretty yellow, daisy looking flowers on arrowleaf balsamroot plants dotting the foothills.
Want to take in these breathtaking views on your own? These are the nine best trails to see them!
