Steelhead Fishing Canceled

A bad steelhead run has caused the state to cancel its harvest season.

According to The Idaho Statesman, Idaho will allow only catch-and-release for steelhead this fall.

This is a pretty big blow to businesses who rely on steelhead fishing, like guides and suppliers to restaurants.

In an article in the Statesman, one guide said, "I just lost 70 percent of my income for my year.

And it's not just affecting Idaho, Washington is expected to implement similar rules soon.
