The 30th installment of Boise's Twilight Criterium is taking place on a brand new route! Here's how it will impact your weekend travel.

According to the map on the cycle race's website, the new route will take cyclists from the Capitol to 6th Street, across Bannock and back down 9th street to the start/finish line on Jefferson in front of the Capitol.  It's expected to draw close to 20,000 spectators and 300 cyclists.

The event is part of the USA Cycling National Criterium Calendar and Championship Series so it'll bring pros from all over the country to compete for the $15,000 cash prize in the women's and men's pro races.

The expo area opens to the public at 2:00 p.m. when the adult races begin.  A GreenBike Celebrity Bike ride is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. The pro events take place at 7:00 p.m. (women's) and 8:15 p.m.
