After a 12-year relationship, the two tech giants are telling each other "It's not you, it's me."

Luckily, it's not all doom and gloom. Let us explain.

Intel is the nation's largest producer of semiconductors, with Micron being the second largest. For over a decade, the two companies have worked together making flash memory for millions of computers around the world. More specifically, the two brands worked together to provide flash memory for Apple, which soon after released the original iPhone. That relationship is coming to an end. Rob Crooke, a senior vice president at Intel, elaborates:

We’ve reached a point in the … development partnership where it is the right time for the companies to pursue the markets we’re focused on.

Micron is Boise's biggest for-profit employer, so what's going to happen to their nearly 6,800 workers in the city of trees? Micron says no jobs are expected to be affected, so their staff can rest easy. Sounds like there's no hard feelings in this break up.
