The Idaho Transportation Department is getting ready to begin a nine month project on a section of I-84 in Canyon County. The first step is demolishing an overpass.

If you're one of our 2C folks coming into Ada County for a date night or Family Slide Night at Roaring Springs, be ready to exercise a little patience getting home tonight. The same goes for those of you who may be driving in from Nampa or Caldwell for a trail run in the Foothills before things really heat up tomorrow morning.

I-84 between Franklin Road (Exit 29) and Karcher/Midland (Exit 33) will be closed in both directions from 10 p.m. on Friday, August 14 to 7 a.m. on Saturday, August 15. The closure allows crews to safely demolish the Middleton Road Overpass.

Replacing the overpass will take nine months and will cause future detours and closures (including Cherry Lane for 3-4 months) throughout the project.
