Cyclosporiasis is an aggressive parasitic illness that people get by ingesting infected foods or liquids. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), symptoms begin about one week after a person is exposed to the bacteria.

Foods like raspberries, lettuce, cilantro, and snow peas should be avoided until the exact cause of this outbreak is determined, according to Eating Well. Symptoms of the illness include watery diarrhea, nausea, weight loss, and others.
