Zoo Boise Just Named Their Precious New Red Panda

There's always something fun to do in Boise and when there's a zoo in the heart of the city you know there's going to be nothing short of a good time.

Overall, Zoo Boise always has something fun going on for all of the lovely Boise residents but this time it's more fun for the animals as they get a new friend.

The red pandas in Zoo Boise had been in what was supposed to be a temporary home since 2004, according to the Zoo Website. The new exciting exhibit, The Virginia R. Bartak Red Panda Passage, opened in 2025 giving adequate space for the red panda cubs that lived there, even more climbing opportunities, and give the pandas comfortable temperatures year round. It also meant Zoo Boise guests would get a pathway and a window view into the day room.

Now that the Virginia R. Bartak Red Panda Passage has been a success for the past year they were ready to welcome a new red panda to the mix.
