I really thought we were better than this as a society. That, somehow, we could evolve past rudimentary jokes and puns. That, someday, we as homo sapiens could find a way to simply...be better.

I was wrong. Humans aren't great.

"Idaho, no YOU da h*e!"

I heard it loud and clear. Like God herself was speaking directly to me, and there was not a single sound to be heard anywhere else. That phrase that Idahoans abhor, but seems to linger no matter where you are.

It was at bar trivia last night. One of the questions happened to be about Idaho, and as soon as the host read the question out loud, some dude yells out "Idaho? No YOU da h*e!" Loud as can be. Everyone in the bar heard it.

It was obvious the table of gentlemen where the outspoken one was located were definitely not from Idaho. Not sure if they forgot where they were, if they had just heard that joke for the first time and wanted to repeat it, or it they were plainly so drunk that they didn't even care to make fun of an entire bar full of locals.

To that gentleman, I say this: Do better. Challenge yourself, dig down deep, and find a better joke.

P.S. You guys left your table so dirty for your server when you left. Uncool.
