A New Element of “Cool” Coming To Boise-Area’s Roaring Springs
If you're a parent in the Treasure Valley, you know that Roaring Springs is where your kids want to be all summer long. With nearly 20 attractions, it is easily the largest water park in Idaho, but it continues to expand.
Two years ago, Roaring Springs unveiled its plans for a major expansion. Their seven-phase plan will take ten to fifteen years to complete. It will increase the size of the park by 40%, making it not just the largest water park in Idaho but one of the largest in the entire country.
The first phase, which opened in the summer of 2023, introduced the action wave river called Class 5 Canyon, an Idaho-themed interactive playground called Camp IdaH2O, and Critter Crossing, an activity pool with a forest theme and a water basketball court.
Those were just the things your kids noticed. The expansion also included 16 luxury cabanas, a new UV filtration system, and a bar and grill called the Geyser Grill and Bar that serves Idaho craft beers and cocktails. They also increased the size of the parking lot.
There are still six more expansions left for the park over the next ten to twelve years; we don't know much about the second phase, but to keep on pace with the original 15-year timeline, we would expect phase two to open within the next two years.
During a recent interview with Roaring Springs Marketing Director Tiffany Watts, who was promoting the addition of Christmas In Color, the drive-through Christmas lights display that is moving from Expo Idaho to the Roaring Springs Parking lot, she mentioned the next exciting feature that is set to open at the water park for the 2025 season.
"We are getting a gigantic video wall that will be on the head of the wave pool stage. So you can chill out in the wave pool, watch movies, watch music videos. We're gonna have DJs, we're gonna have bands, and it's just going to add a whole new element to the cool factor of Roaring Springs. It will be ready to go May 10th, when we open for 2025."
