Boise’s 2024 Floating Season To Officially Begin This Week
As summer blazes in full swing, there's no better way to beat the heat than floating the Boise River with your closest friends - especially in this heat!
It's been hot y'all!
This past weekend felt like the Treasure Valley was soaking in Satan's bathwater with temperatures nearing triple digits. Sure, one could argue that cold water, electrolytes, and some shade (A/C anyone?) is the ultimate way to beat the heat.
But, you can't say that if you've never floated the river.
We're not talking about jumping off the bridges either, that's a whole other topic of discussion.
But floating the river in a tube? Shoot, and then one of your buddies secures the all-important floating cooler, packed with cold drinks and snacks, to the center tube. It’s the oasis of refreshment, your little "island of refreshments" keeping everyone hydrated and happy throughout the journey.
You have to try it at least once and luckily for all of us, now know when we can get our river gear together to start floating.
Time to start planning!
According to FloatTheBoise.org, Boise's 2024 floating season will officially begin on Thursday, June 27.
It's important to note that Boise Fire will be completing additional hazard mitigation along the float route but that doesn't mean you can float carelessly. Be aware of your surroundings, ensure the little ones are wearing their floaties, and, of course... HAVE FUN!
