It's been one of the most talked-about topics of the summer so far, and yet, police are having to share the scary statistics of the '100 Deadliest Days' in Idaho.

Boise Police Share Update On '100 Deadliest Days In Idaho'

Police are reminding all of us about the importance of the "100 Deadliest Days" in a post highlighting some of the scary numbers associated with the season.

"The time between Memorial Day and Labor Day is known as the 100 deadliest days and sadly, it’s already living up to its name," Boise police shared in their post.

According to their report, from June 1st to June 8th, there were 48 crashes in Boise that resulted in 15 injuries and 1 death.

Boise police also shared some of the top causes of those crashes, which include "disregarding traffic signals, failure to yield, and following too close" to other vehicles.

"Across Ada & Canyon Counties, 3 people have died on our roads since Memorial Day," Boise police shared.

Take Your Time, Slow Down!

In addition to taking your time, ensure you have a safe ride home and if you see your friends indulging before they get behind the wheel, step up and keep them safe.

We're not here to lecture but at the same time, we're seeing way too many accidents and road closures due to people driving recklessly. Staying alive and uninjured is as simple as leaving early, slowing down, and driving sober.

Police say they have have increased their traffic enforcement and while that should make safe drivers feel warm and cozy, it's a sad reality of the "100 Deadliest Days."
