If it's been a while since you last visited Ann Morrison Park, get ready, it doesn't quite look like the picture at this moment.  Flooding from the Boise River has done some real damage.

I caught coverage on KTVB Newschannel 7, and it was amazing to see how much damage had been done with the increased flows of the Boise River.

Officials estimate between three and four acres of the park (which has about 150 acres of land) were affected by flooding.  While it's not a lot of the total area of the park, it is in some of the most-used sections.  Work has already begun to get repairs completed.  Crews are working reseed as soon as conditions allow.

Unfortunately, conditions may  not improve immediately.  Officials say they hope to return the park to the same condition it was in before the flooding by next Spring.

Boise Parks and Recreation is asking that we stay away from areas that are fences or taped off, which currently includes the children's playground.  That area is likely closed for the remainder of the summer.
