The final season of Game of Thrones premieres on Sunday, and without giving any spoilers, we hear that the secret to the show's success will be prominent again this season.  The characters will reap what they sow.

David Benioff and D.B Weiss are the masterminds behind Game of Thrones, and EW said they've known generally how the series will end for about five years now.  They've left room for better ideas to pop up and they didn't fill in all of the details right away, but they've had a general idea in mind about how to wrap up major storylines since Season 3, and they've pointed everything in that direction since then.

The show is based on the A Song of Fire and Ice book series by George R.R. Martin, and the book series isn't finished yet.  The show is ending before the books are complete, which means the show and the books will have different endings.  And at this point, no one is telling how exactly those endings will differ.

EW pointed out that the final episode of any show can color how fans feel about the whole series, and the Game of Thrones creators are feeling the pressure.  They really, really want fans to love it. But they're going to stay far far away from social media on Sunday night so they don't have to deal with all of us armchair critics on Twitter.  As long as Kit Harington is on, we're sure it will be great.

Without revealing any spoilers for Season 8, they have offered some hints.  We've learned that we'll have more Bella this season because the audience loves Bella Ramsey (Lyanna Mormont) so much.  And she's such a good actress the creators felt compelled to keep putting her in scenes.  And this season they'll explore more of the Jon and Dany relationship because they're officially together now and they can go into more depth than they did in Season 7.

The final season of Game of Thrones premieres Sunday night (April 14) on HBO, and they've only got six episodes to sort everything out.  The final episode airs May 19.

And then, will you read the books?  Those may hold the only remaining secrets.
