Hurricane Matthew delayed the release of this week's college football rankings, but now that they're out ESPN is making it's first projections for the Broncos and the Vandals!

BSU's Projection

According to the Idaho Statesman, Houston's loss to Navy makes Boise State the favorite to receive the Group of Five's place in one of the New Year's Six bowls.  It's not impossible for Houston to box BSU out, but they'd have to win their conference championship to do it.  That's just became a little more difficult to do with one conference loss to their name.  If Boise State stays undefeated in the Mountain West and wins the conference championship, they'd likely win the Group of Five bid.

So where would they go bowling this winter?  According to ESPN's earliest projections it's Arlington, Texas. ESPN projects that the Broncos could face Baylor or Tennessee on January 2nd.

University of Idaho's Projection

The Vandals are off to one of their strongest starts in recent years, improving to 3-3 with a win over the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks on Saturday.  The Vandals' record is getting them a little love from ESPN, which predicts that they could face a Mountain West opponent at the Nova Home Loans Arizona Bowl in Tuscon, Arizona on December 30th. Their potential opponents are Wyoming or Nevada.
