Boise to Host June Convention for Skiers
After a few days with temperatures in the mid and upper 80s, it seems a bit strange to be thinking about hitting the slopes, but soon, a gathering of skiers will be coming to Boise.
The Far West Ski Association (FWSA) will be hosting their 85th annual convention in Boise. It's set to run June 7th-11th and will include activities for the public like a fountain party, silent auction and trade show, and Saturday awards banquet event.
The convention attendees will exploring public affairs programs, safety programs, athletic scholarships, racing, ski industry and outreach to their local communities.
The FWSA is a non-profit organization that's run by volunteers. It represents 150 different ski clubs across our region in Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
The event is being hosted by the Bogus Basin Ski Club and Intermountain Ski Council.
Some of the highlighted events inclue A Taste of Idaho dinner on Wednesday June 7th, Rafting on the Payette River and Pub Crawl, Thursday June 8th, and golf tournament and time around Boise Friday June 9th. The bigger convention activities will be at the Boise Center Saturday and Sunday, June 10th and 11th.
The Fountain Party, honoring Bogus Basin's 75th anniversary, is Friday June 9th from 4pm-6:30pm.
