Boise State University is in the news yet again. This time it's not for the blue turf or what goes on every Saturday.

According to Outdoor Collective, a weekly online magazine Boise State graces the Top 5 for Best Colleges For Outdoor Adventures. Among the other schools highlighted Appalachian State in NC, and Berry College in GA, BSU offers something that many students already know. Incredibly easy access to the mountains rivers and camping grounds.

One of the pluses that the University also makes available is the World Class Recreation Center with classes offered and trips galore. The Outdoor Program Season Pass gets you in one weekend trip, one day trip, a free scheduled ski night at Bogus, and 25% off of Outdoor rentals from the center. Add in a few other goodies this is one heck of a deal for students wanting to stay active. Boise is among one of the fittest cities in America.

What we as Idahoan's already know is that the desire and love to hunt is there. It's almost like the majority of us where born into it. If you are new to hunting or just wanting to get into it and take some safety classes, the Idaho Fish and Game recommends you sign up for those classes right now instead of waiting for the later summer and early fall classes. They do fill up and it's better to get it out of the way now and get yourself trained and up in the brush. To find out how you can get registered visit Idaho Fish and Game's website.

Between the biking trails, the insanely beautiful camping sites, and the glorious rivers that run through our own back yards, Boise is an amazing place to call home. It's no wonder so many people from out of town are making the move to the Treasure Valley. Welcome and enjoy your stay :) - JD
