Belt Expands With Your Growing Waistline

I don't know if this is some cruel joke or the most awesome invention in the world. It was unveiled at CES that a belt (named "Belty") will automatically expand if your waistband expands. What's your initial reaction?

Forget wearing yoga pants and sweats during a big meal. Wear a "Belty". This prototype is a belt that knows to loosen up when you've eaten too much.

The weird thing is the belt is made of a pretty heavy-looking metal and isn't the least bit fashionable (or discreet). I can just imagine the belt making the same sound a rollercoaster does when it clicks up the hill before the huge drop. Yeah, that sound.
