Avoid Parking Tickets on Halloween Weekend: Boise Testing New Drop Off Zone
I know that as soon as I type these words, I'm probably shooting myself jinxing myself. If there's one thing I pride myself on after living in Boise for almost 10 years, it's the fact that I've been able to avoid a parking ticket while Downtown!
Now, that may have to do a lot with the fact that I can't parallel park to save my life, so nine times out of ten, I'll park in the Capitol Terrace parking garage but that's neither here nor there.
If you're heading into Downtown Boise to celebrate some pre-Halloween fun tonight, you're at a greater risk of a parking ticket as the City of Boise are testing a new drop off one for ride share services.
That new drop off zone is on the south side Bannock from 8th Street to Capitol Blvd. and will be enforced Friday-Saturday, 9 p.m. - 5 a.m. Parking in that area during the restricted times could result in a ticket or being towed. The test is scheduled to run weekends through November 24. If it's successful, the city may choose to make that drop off zone permanent.
Of course, if you are planning on enjoying some of the Halloween parties Downtown, we encourage you to make good decisions and arrange a safe ride home by having a designated driver or planning to use a ride share service/taxi.
