2018 Patriot Day Festivities in Nampa

It's incredible how fast this year has been flying by, but tomorrow we all need to stop and reflect on how important the day truly is. Tomorrow will be September 11, 2018 exactly 17 years since the September 11th attacks took place on U.S. soil. If you were alive when these actions took place, there is no doubt that you remember exactly where you were when you heard about the attack.

The memories seem like they were only yesterday to me, as I was getting ready for another day of high school, then life changed. Close to 3,000 innocent people were killed, and over 6,000 people were injured due to these cowardly acts. It was extremely alarming to me as one of my brothers were stationed over in Japan part of the U.S. Marine Corps when this took place. I remember truly being scared about what would happen next.

As we take time tomorrow to remember those that lost their life, the Nampa Fire Department wants to invite you to their Patriot Day ceremony. Taking place tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m at the Nampa Fire Station located at 923 1st St. South in Nampa, ID. You will hear from Mayor Debbie Kling, Fire Chief Phil Roberts, and Police Chief Joe Huff paying tribute. You can find more details on the event here.
