This was the scene at the Boise River (just past the Parkcenter Bridge) on Tuesday afternoon. Starting today, it will look a little different as the flow level increases.

By now we've all heard about the 19-year-old girl who was injured when a man jumped off a bridge and landed on her in the Boise River. Don't do that. It's illegal.

After the months of record-setting flows on the Boise River, many of us are waiting for the "all clear" to enjoy one of the perks of Boise in the summer:  Floating the river.

Is it true?! Is it time to break out the rafts, tubes and air mattresses? Have we avoided the latest Boise River Float season of all time?

This is the second time this has happened this summer. This time an SUV plunged into the fast moving Payette River.

It might be surprising to some, but Idaho has some excellent river adventure sporting.  This weekend, one of the most intense kayaking events in the country is on the Payette.

We've been hearing updates about the potential flooding situation and the unusually high river flows for months, and now, officials are looking at the long-game of clean up.  It is not going to be easy.

If you've walked the greenbelt or crossed any of our bridges lately, you've probably noticed, the Boise River is running high and fast.

As I take bike rides this fall, I will be taking and sharing pictures from our greenbelt.  With the weather holding on there will be more this week.  The shots I'm adding are from the ride Brenda and I took Saturday. Today I have to install a new clothes dryer and finish my mechanic yoga...

For the next few days I will be getting in as many bicycle rides on the greenbelt as possible.  The only part I dislike about fall is how the warm days dwindle. For those who can't or don't get out and enjoy our greenbelt, I will be taking pictures each day with the camera on my phone, hopefully they will show just how beautiful our valley is...
