We've been hearing updates about the potential flooding situation and the unusually high river flows for months, and now, officials are looking at the long-game of clean up.  It is not going to be easy.

The recovery from this seasons flooding is going to be lengthy and costly.  After months of the record-breaking flows, word is the Boise River could be going down soon.  That doesn't mean the impact is over though, as the damage and erosion to the Greenbelt and near bridges is substantial.

Officials will have to assess the damage once the river recedes.  There is no way to accurately assess the damage at this point in time.  The expectation is there will be sections of the Greenbelt that remain closed for some time.

Engineers warn that assessment and repair will take time and be very costly.  KTVB Newschannel 7 took at look at things, and you can see their report, HERE.
