Are you ready to lace up and pound the pavement for the kids? The St. Luke's FitOne 5K/10K/Half Marathon is just a few days away and the fun kicks off today at the Healthy Living Expo!

If you've made this race a family tradition since the Women's Fitness Celebration evolved into FitOne to include the entire family in 2013, chances are you're pre-programmed to head straight to the Boise Centre on the Grove to pick-up your race t-shirt. This year, you'll need to re-program yourself to head to the Healthy Living Expo's new location at JUMP!

The Healthy Living Expo is FREE and open to the public regardless if you're registered for one of the races or not.  Moving to the new location will allows the race organizers to expand the fun to three different floors and include a few new things the family can enjoy that they haven't had the opportunity to do before.

After you pick-up your t-shirt and come see us for some additional swag, here are four things you won't want to miss at this year's Healthy Living Expo!

 1) Ride the JUMP Slide

The Healthy Living Expo might be the first time you've been over to JUMP when the Spiral Slide is open. It is hands down one of the most noticeable things you see when you look at JUMP, but it sat idle until this past May.  Since then, the public is able to ride the slide on Thursdays and Saturdays. The Healthy Living Expo just so happens to fall on a Thursday, so the slide will be a big highlight. St. Luke's even persuaded JUMP to keep it open an extra hour! You'll be able to ride it from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday!

2) Bike Helmet Giveaway

Let's be honest, picking up a ton a FREE swag from the St. Luke's FitOne Healthy Living Expo is one of the best parts of the event.  RC Willey notoriously has some of the best stuff. I've racked up a step stool for the kitchen, huge umbrella, tupperware and a first aid kit that was perfect for my car over the years. They're table on the vendor floor is an annual occurrence, but this give away is brand new! On Friday at 5 p.m., 100 kids age 14 and under will be fitted for a FREE bike helmet! You can find the giveaway at the St. Luke's Children's booth. The child must be present to receive a helmet.

3) Resilience Documentary Screening

It goes without saying that today's kids have a lot more on their plate than we did when we did.  Enduring trauma like abuse and neglect during childhood puts them under a condition called toxic stress.  That pressure cooker may trigger hormones that attack the brains and bodies of kids as they're developing and make them more likely to experience disease, homelessness, prison time and early death when they grow up.  Resilience, takes a look at how to fight back and protect today's kids from toxic stress. thanks to Optum Idaho, you'll be able to see it for yourself in the Inspire room on Friday from 12-1:30 p.m.

4) Silent Disco

If you've never seen one of these, you need to check out this cool new addition to St. Luke's FitOne.  It's an outdoor dance party...but only a handful of people can hear the music! That's because the playlist is fed through a special set of headphones.  If you want to snag a pair, stop by the booth outside the front entrance on Friday from 6-7 p.m. to join the party! There will be 50 sets of headphones available!
