The Pacific Northwest is bustling with local Breweries and craft beers. Downtown Boise will soon welcome another into its folds. Barbarian Brewing is no stranger to the Treasure Valley. They already have a location in Garden City 5270 Chinden, and coming soon they will add a new location to the Downtown Boise landscape. Moving into the former home of The Crux, at 1022 W. Main Street.

Barbarian was started by husband and wife team James and BreAnne Hovley with the concept of long barrel aged craft and sour beers. And they have collected a healthy and loyal following in the Treasure Valley. These beers don't take only a few weeks or days to create, many take up multiple months and some even years. So this is a true craft, a labor of love really. I'm so looking forward to this place opening up! So many different types of beer, like Little Wolf IPA, Erik The Red IPA, Elixir of the Gods, as well as a Bourbon Barrel Sour Port. Peep this list of beers that will be on tap..SOOO GOOD. James was quoted in the Idaho Statesman talking about the size of the new location saying “We’d like to keep our boutique size, so Downtown is a way for us to be able to move our beer without having to distribute like crazy.” The Barbarian Brewing Tap Room will open it's doors this spring or by early summer just in time for all those thirsty Boise Beer Lovers. Cheers! - JD
