The Time Change is Quickly Approaching in the Gem State
September is rolling by, and October is fast approaching. The calendar officially now says that it is fall, despite the weather not always agreeing. Many are focused on the fall attractions and on getting their decorations and costumes, and figuring out plans for Halloween. Others are worried about fantasy football, their teams, and cheering on their kids. While all of these are important things that take place during fall, so is the time change. It has been months since the clock changed and daylight saving began, but how long until we gain back that hour of sleep and change the clocks once more?
When is the Time Change in Idaho?
The days are getting shorter and the earlier and earlier it gets dark, many anticipate that the clocks will change. The time is coming and will be here before you know it, but not this month, or next month. The clocks will not fall back until November 2, meaning there are still plenty of light nights to enjoy evening activities, sporting events, practices, walks, and driving home from work without your headlights on. It will be nice to be able to drive to work with daylight earlier in the day, but it will be unfortunate for those coming home in the dark. It is well documented that many hate daylight saving time, and if you are looking to escape it, the two states to live in are Arizona and Hawaii, as they are the only two that don't have to suffer.
The Side Effects of Time Change
While many like to complain about the time change, it is scientifically unhealthy for those who have to go through it. It throws off sleep patterns, especially for younger children; it can cause depression, and it lowers many people's energy for a bit of time as they adjust. The fall and winter are already tough with less sunlight, fewer times outdoors, and frigid temperatures, and adding a change of the clocks seems cruel to many in the United States. For now, enjoy fall, Halloween, and all the fun that comes with this time of year. Take in the changing and falling of the leaves, enjoy football season, and get out and get lost in a corn and hay maze. There is plenty of time until the time needs to be changed, but don't forget when it finally gets here.
