
Boise State’s Ahmed Hassanein Gets MVP In His NFL Return
Ahmed Hassanein, former Boise State Defensive Lineman, was selected 196 overall by the Detroit Lions in the 2025 NFL Draft.
His drafting story went extremely viral for multiple reasons. Hassanein is the first NFL player to be from Egypt and he also proposed to his now wife immediately after being selected. It was truly a moment to remember and made all of the Boise State fans extremely proud.
Ahmed Hassanein's NFL Debut Was Cut Short by Injury
Last season he had an insane stand out game in his NFL debut. Unfortunately, it was a pre-season game and not a regular season game because following that he was injured and out for the remainder of the season.
Our hearts broke for him but now he's back and his first NFL game post injury was one for the books.

Ahmed Hassanein put on an insane show yesterday in his first NFL game back. Yes, it was a preseason game but it was impressive nonetheless. He ended up sacking JOE BURROW! He had told his friend he wanted to do it and followed through and was extremely impressive all game following that.
He ended up with 4 tackles, 2 sacks, and 1 forced fumble! Insanely impressive stats for his first game back after being injured the ENTIRE season last year.

After sacking Joe Burrow for the first time he was so stoked and his reaction to the sack has gone viral online. People are absolutely loving Ahmed Hassanein and how could you not??? We're so proud that such a great Boise State alumni is doing such big things in the NFL against all odds!
