The park will be open beginning this Saturday (6/17/17).  Jennifer Okerlund, IDPR Communications Manager said, “With river levels stabilizing and water receding, park staff have been able to evaluate current conditions and access necessary clean-up, and it’s been determined that Eagle Island State Park can safely re-open this Saturday.”

All trails within the park, with the exception of the trail around the lake, will remain closed until further notice. The disc golf course is also closed until further notice.

If you plan on visiting this weekend keep in mind that the open fields that surround the park still have standing water and are still quite wet so it’s all vehicles should remain on the paved roads and within designated parking areas.
