Community Solar Project Coming to Boise
You may have a subscription to Netflix or a music streaming service, but soon you could be subscribing to a solar panel project in Boise!
Idaho Power had a plan for a 'community solar project' in Boise and now the the Idaho Public Utilities Commission has approved the project, making it Idaho's utility-owned solar power production.
How will it be funded? The $1.2 million project will be paid mostly through subscriptions from Idaho residents. These subscriptions will cost $562 a piece, the buyers would then receive a credit on their monthly power bill reflecting the solar panel's output.
So if your neighborhood prohibits the use of solar panels, you rent, or you have trees providing too much shade, this is a perfect option for you to save by using solar energy!
