Calories Don’t Count; Eat A DQ Blizzard to Help Kids Thursday
Craving an Oreo or Cookie Dough Blizzard? Cool off and treat yourself for a good cause on Thursday, July 25!
There's a Dairy Queen near the end of the four mile loop that I run in Southeast Boise and their sign was exactly the reminder that I needed that calories don't count when it's for a good cause! Their reader board said "Blizzards for Kids: July 25!"
It took me a second to figure out what it was talking about and then that's when I rezlied that Thursday is Dairy Queen's annual "Miracle Treat Day" which means that $1 or more from every blizzard sold at participating DQ locations will be donated to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals! In case you didn't know, St. Luke's Children's Hospital is one of those hospitals so your purchase is actually benefiting kids in the Treasure Valley!
Since Dairy Queen and Children's Miracle Network staring working together in 1984, they've donated more than $145 million!
Whether they're in the hospital battling cancer, seeking treatment for a traumatic injury or were born with a genetic disease, 62 children per minute are admitted to a Children's Miracle Network Hospital.
The following Treasure Valley locations are participating in "Miracle Treat Day":

- 5711 Franklin Rd, Boise
- 10264 Overland Rd, Boise
