OMG! Hug it, I will!

The holidays came and went without being able to gift the Star Wars fan in your life a collectible resembling the breakout star of the Disney+ series, The Mandalorian. The House of Mouse made the decision to hold off on sending any products resembling the character known as "The Child" into production until after the series debuted to avoid spoilers about it's inclusion in the project. It totally worked, but Treasure Valley fans are desperate to get their hands on "Baby Yoda" toys since November.

Only a few companies have been selected to roll out the first toys resembling the character. Seattle based Funko, best known of their POP! bobbleheads, was among them. According to CNET, their "The Child" figurine is the most pre-ordered POP! in the company's history. Pre-orders are expected to start shipping in late April/Early May.

Build-A-Bear was another company chosen to make an officially licensed Baby Yoda product. While we can't confirm the exact release date (we've heard a rumor of May) we can show you a sneak peek of what the little guy will look like when he comes to the Boise Towne Square Mall for the first time. Build-A-Bear released this image via their social media pages today.

They've set up an e-mail club for those wishing to know exactly when he'll be available. You can click HERE to join that list!

In the meantime if your kids can't wait to build a Star Wars friend at Build-A-Bear, they're currently running a sale where you can save up to 40% off some of their other characters from a galaxy far far away. Those styles include the Porg, Ewok, Chewbacca, Darth Maul, Darth Vader, Rey, Kylo Ren and Stormtrooper bears.
