A Little Part of History Arrived in My Neighborhood in Meridian Today
I had to run home today and when I got to my front door, I was surprised to see this little gift wrapped in a clear plastic bag. In truth, don't know when I last used a phone book.
I remember when that was the go-to for that new restaurant you wanted to try, the home repair service, and even that friend you somehow didn't seem to have a number for.
The phone book used to be an essential, but I doubt I'm alone in feeling a little surprised to see it show up at my door. I don't think I've had a phone book in the house for the last 10 years. I typically just ask Siri to search for whatever number I need and get directions at the same time.
The cover art is beautiful, but am I the only one who just doesn't need this any more? Is this something like the Kindle vs. paper book debate where some just like to remain old school?
Will you be using your new phone book, or contributing to the recycling program immediately?
