Are you hungry to hit the slopes, but our closest resorts don't seem quite ready to host you for what you want to do?  Maybe a trip to Northern Idaho is exactly what you need.

No doubt, with all the adjacent resorts to the Treasure Valley, this isn't usually even a consideration, but with stormy weather over the past couple weeks, our neighbors to our north are enjoying some perfect fresh powder.

The Coeur d'Alene Press reported that Lookout Pass opened on Sunday with a base of 8 inches and 14 at the summit (and snow continued over night).

Silver mountain resort opened their bunny hill, tubing, and limited skiing over the weekend.  They still need an additional 12 inches to open the entire resort, but the forecast calls for snow all week, and they anticipate a Friday opening.

Schweitzer Mountain is also predicting a Friday opening.
