Sure, watching the NFL's virtual draft this weekend was fun and all, but it was hard to get excited about football season when the future of live sports is so unclear.

Like many of you, I've been on an emotional roller coaster the last few weeks. When Governor Little introduced the four stage plan to reopen Idaho, I didn't feel optimistic or excited. Every stage has an asterisk next to it reminding us that we'll only move into the next stage if there's no significant increase in cases and all criteria is met. The dates are only estimated targets. When public gatherings of 50 or more won't be acceptable until June 13 at the earliest, I don't know how to feel about the future of live sports and that makes me so sad. My husband and I met because of sports, we started dating because of sports and he decided he wanted to marry me while watching me watch sports. Sports are one of the things that bring us closer together and the idea of them being there this year, makes me so sad.

The Boise Hawks are one of the sports teams in limbo right now. In October, minor league baseball said their home opener would be Monday, June 22 just nine days after gatherings of 50+ with social distancing guidelines may get the green light to move forward. While they wait to see what the future of the 2020 season looks like, Chef Jake wants to at least give your family an opportunity to enjoy some of your favorite ballpark meals at home!

They're offering three different Boise Hawks themed Family Meal Kits available for curbside pick-up at Memorial Stadium, but you need to order quickly! Your orders must be in to Chef Jake by 2 p.m. on Monday, April 27. You can see their menu in the Facebook post below.

BTW, the Hawks have been working hard to support the Treasure Valley throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. They've donated tickets for health care workers on the front lines to use during the 2020 or 2021 seasons and have put together a fun baseball themed at home learning packet for kids in grades K-8! If you want to integrate that into your homeschool routine, you can see it by clicking HERE!
