Meridian Brewery Going Out of Business; Serving $2 Pints
2017 was a year of ups and downs for restaurants, breweries and wineries in the Treasure Valley. We gained a few new happy hour destinations, but lost a few old favorites.
2018's proving to be pretty similar. LITE listener Carrie, tagged me in a post that bummed me out yesterday afternoon. According to the Meridian Press, Slanted Rock is closing their doors on January 27. It's a decision the brewery made because the lease on their current location ends this month.
Slanted Rock's canned and bottle beers have been popular across the Treasure Valley and it's not uncommon to see their beers on tap at brewpubs in the area. Does this news mean the end of Initial Point IPA and Iron Butt Red Ale? For now.
If the right opportunity presents itself at the right time and right location, the managing partners would love to reopen. The Idaho Statesman mentions the possibility of the brewery contracting with another local brewer to make a couple kegs of their most popular seasonals once a quarter.
During it's final month, Slanted Rock is draining the kegs with $2 pints. Stop by their tasting room next to the Majestic Cinemas in Meridian Thursday-Friday from 4-9 p.m. or Saturday 12-9 p.m. to enjoy your last cold one with the Slanted Rock team.
The brewery operated in that location for five years.
