The 22nd Annual Boise Race for the Cure is Saturday, May 9 and we can't wait to walk beside thousands of you in the fight against breast cancer! It would be an honor to have one of the largest teams on the course for such an important cause and that's why I want to personally want to invite you to join our station team!

So how do you join our team? Click HERE to go directly to our team's page! Scroll down until you see the "Join Team" button. Select that, get yourself signed up and get ready to be more than pink with us on Race Day! If you sign up by February 28, you'll get a special early bird discount and get into the race for just $20.  Who doesn't love a great deal?

As a thank you for walking beside us on the Bust Brigade, the first 50 people who sign up for the team will receive a special LITE-FM beanie hat for race day! They look just like the one above, but will have our team's logo on it!

More Than a Race

Of course, the LITE-FM Bust Brigade could make a bigger impact if we can become one of the top fundraising teams! If everyone who signed up for Race for the Cure donated $5 extra dollars while registering (that's how much your saving by registering early) we could help Susan G. Komen Idaho Montana provide more Idahoans with screening mammograms, fund more lifesaving breast cancer research, help more Idahoans with diagnostic breast health services, provide financial assistance to Idahoans going through breast cancer treatment and help more Idahoans living with stage 4 breast cancer to find clinical trials that may save their lives.

Did you know?

1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their life, many of which have NO history of breast cancer in their family.  Breast cancer can touch people of all ages. One of previous Christmas Wish families is dealing with a terminal metastatic breast cancer diagnosis. This young mother is only in her late twenties and this terrible disease is going to take her from her two children.

Participating in Race for the Cure means you're helping more women get access to the breast cancer screening services they need. If you know someone who's worried about affording their mammogram, you can reach out to Komen Idaho Montana at 208-384-0013 for help. There's nothing more they'd like to do than offer assistance that could lead to families staying together for as long as possible.

Are you in?

Race for the Cure isn't about how fast you can run or setting a course record.  It's a sisterhood (although, we totally want to see your husbands, boyfriends and sons on the course with us too) that refuses to let such an ugly disease take such beautiful people from our lives.  Let's do this together! I'm so excited to walk with 107.9 LITE-FM's Bust Brigade in such an inspiring event.  Will you walk with me? Click HERE if you said yes!

Did we mention you get a really cool hat for being on our team? You want that hat. You know it!
