Nasty and Inebriated: Boise State, Idaho Vandals Rivalry Returns
It's back and football fans are rejoicing-- Boise State will once again play the University of Idaho on the football field, at the order of Idaho Governor Brad Little.
The news came from a press conference on Thursday morning, February 12th, that hosted both university's athletic directors along with Joe Vandal and Buster Bronco--a true Idaho vibe!
Not playing this game any longer has been a major critique of sports fans in Idaho, calling it a 'missed opportunity'. Boise State will play Big Sky teams each year that are equitable with the University of Idaho-- why not keep the cash and the fun right here in the Gem State?
The last time these two teams played was in 2010--and the President of Boise State University ranted about the Vandals, saying he doesn't care if these two teams play ever again and calling University of Idaho fans 'nasty and inebriated'. Vandals wear that title with a sense of sarcastic pride and it's about to get even louder!
Fans are going to need to wait a bit for the historic rivalry to return--the game is slated for a date that feels about a century out: September 6th, 2031.
