Tasty Spot By The Payette River Is One Of Idaho’s Best Hidden Gems

We've said it before, and we'll say it again: Idaho is home to some of the best food spots in the country. This time, my family and I had the privilege of stumbling across a tasty spot with beautiful scenery and fresh food.

It's the dream, isn't it? There truly is something about eating near flowing water that not only adds to the aura of your meal but somehow makes it taste better. Throw in an ice-cold beer to polish it all down? Shooooot... that's the perfect dining experience.

Recently, we had the opportunity to take our station on the road at Locking Horns Riverside Restaurant to give out tickets to the annual Boise Music Festival. Because I love food as much as anything else, I decided to take my wife and kiddos along for the ride.

When we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and inviting vibes from the staff before we were led to the back patio area. I'm somewhat kicking myself for not catching a photo of the interior, but I also didn't want anyone who wanted to enjoy their meal in peace and private to not worry if I was taking photos of them.

Once we got out back, I fell in love, and that was before I even tasted the food. I had the privilege of meeting the owners, Cliff and Summer, who also happen to be retired law enforcement officers.

They shared that every dish is made fresh, and they source the meat from their nearby cattle ranch and partnering ranches. Can you say... "FRESH MEAT?!"

And trust me when I say you can taste the freshness of each dish with each bite. My wife and I each ordered a dish and split our respective dishes in half to share with one another to give ourselves our own "combo" meals.
