Inside George Clooney’s ‘Wake-Up Call’ to Save His Marriage to Amal
George Clooney apparently got a little too comfortable — and according to an insider, his marriage to Amal Clooney may have paid the price.
After 11 years together, the Hollywood heavyweight and human rights attorney had recently been spotted enjoying romantic dates in Capri, Lake Como and Venice, giving their relationship a much-needed boost.
According to the insider, those glamorous getaways came after a much less glamorous realization: George and Amal had gotten so wrapped up in their careers that they barely had time for each other.
A Wake-Up Call
"They've both been very consumed with work the past couple of years, and that absolutely took a toll on the relationship," the source told Star. "There just wasn't any time for each other."

The disconnect was particularly noticeable last year, when George, 65, made his Broadway debut in Good Night and Good Luck. Amal, 48, didn't attend the New York opening, with George explaining that she was home with their 8-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander.
Performing a nearly two-hour show eight times a week also reportedly left George exhausted.
George went through the wringer. It took him ages to recover, and he sort of let himself go a little. George just wasn't really making the same effort with his appearance. He'd just throw on his dad jeans and not think much about it.
George Started Dating His Wife Again
The actor eventually had what the source described as a "wake-up call" and realized that keeping his marriage strong might require a little more effort.
"[George] has realized he needs to woo his wife again or risk losing her," the source revealed.

That reportedly meant breaking out the designer clothes and making more time for romantic dates.
"So, he's breaking out all the designer duds again and looking really good, and Amal has noticed," the source said. "The spark is back."
From Capri to Lake Como and Venice, the couple's recent outings appeared to mark a more romantic chapter after a period when work had reportedly taken center stage.
If the insider's account is accurate, George had learned that even after 11 years of marriage, a little effort — and perhaps fewer dad jeans — could go a long way.
