World Mental Health Day is Saturday, October 10. In a year designed to stress us out, it's more important now than ever before to take the time out and celebrate it.

A few days ago, a friend of mine shared an infographic about living with high functioning anxiety. On the outside you're someone that looks helpful, organized, hardworking, detail oriented, self-sufficient, active and confident. Inside? You're panicked that something will go wrong if you don't do a task yourself, your mind instantly jumps to the worst case scenario, you feel out of control if you're not prepared and you don't know how to switch off and relax out of guilt.

Wow. That nailed every single one of my personality traits on the head. Normally, I do an ok(ish) job of managing my anxiety but 2020 has caused it to become absolutely debilitating at times.

The way I've been able to find some in those times? By running. Yes, that's been a hobby for me for years except right now I'm not running for anything. I'm just running. It's some detox time where I can pop on my headphones and not have to think about anything happening in the news. It's mentally refreshing and self care that its important to do.

So on World Mental Health Day, what are you doing to prioritize and invent in mental health? Both for yourself and others? We've got a few ideas!
