Readers Digest had an article that intrigued me "15 Things That Can Actually Be Seen from Space" The majority of the 15 are not in the United States, only a few are with TWO things in Idaho. Yep out of all of the massive things around the world and country - Idaho is the only state that made it on the list twice.

Lunar eclipses aren't visible for everyone because you have to be in place where the moon is above the horizon at the right time. For this lunar event, North America, Canada and Mexico are the tip visible spots. NASA is predicting the full eclipse will last 3 hours and 28 minutes. While at it's peak up to 97% of the moon will look red as Earth passes between the sun and moon, casting a shadow.

In 1986, I was an extremely impressionable nine-year-old boy in the fourth grade. Like everyone my age at that time, I was obsessed with space. I loved Star Wars, E.T., and the Pigs In Space segment of The Muppet Show. I had NASA themed LEGO's, dressed up as Darth Vader for Halloween, and a poster of the Space Shuttle on my wall...

It's a slow ride straight up above the earth, above airplanes, and almost to outer space. Wanna go?

Today (July 2) is World UFO Day, so it's a good time to look out the window to see if you notice any flying saucers hovering about. Boise has already had a bunch of UFO sightings this year, and at the rate we're going, we could have more today.

A massive asteroid will whiz by the earth next week, they're calling it "potentially hazardous."  So where is the best Treasure Valley spot to watch this madness?  Here are some ideas.
