Dusti Olson from Kuna is competing for the Miss Rodeo America title in Las Vegas.   Here is an update and how YOU can watch the coronation live:

One of the items on my bucket list is to travel to Nevada and experience the excitement of the Miss Rodeo America pageant and the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo .   (AND...of course there's all the shopping and parties and bonding that only comes from a Vegas adventure!)

Miss Rodeo Idaho, Inc. is an organization that is powered by a remarkable group of women who volunteer their experience, time and efforts along with financial backing and fundraising to ensure that our western way of life is preserved.  They also work tirelessly to promote the excellent rodeos throughout our state including the world class Caldwell Night Rodeo and the Snake River Stampede Rodeos that are right here in the Treasure Valley.

Since Miss Rodeo America rules dictate that the contestants cannot communicate with the media during competition week, I reached out to Dusti's sister, former Caldwell Night Rodeo Queen Brooke (Olson) Bottorff, who is in Las Vegas this week for an update:

"Dusti has been doing unbelievable!! Speeches this year were a topic that was drawn, she drew : what inspires me/inspiration.  She was given 10 minutes to come up with a 1.5 minute speech and she did so great, nailed the time frame and it was very unique compared to what the other girls spoke about that drew the same topic. She won the Chap Award during the WNFR Luncheon on Thursday, out of 33 girls!

During the luncheon the girls drew 3 questions. A rodeo knowledge question, equestrian question, and a person (either someone on the PRCA board, PRCA cowboy, or WPRA cowgirl). She was asked: what is ground money, they named a part of a saddle, and she was asked who is Dusty Tuckness. She nailed every question.

The fashion show was Friday (photos are on the Shooter website). She did amazing! They modeled multiple outfits alongside JJ Harrison and some other guest models. She modeled her fashion forward outfit which was a short Jean dress with leather embellishments and nailed it!

Everyone screams when Idaho comes out, even other states!  She had her last interview and I've been told the judges love her and are always laughing during the interview because she has such a contagious personality.

Today she will be participating in the Justin Boots parade at the convention center which they had to design themselves.  Tonight concludes the judging and we will be patiently awaiting coronation."  Brooke

Dusti is a well rounded, kind individual who we are so proud to have representing our state!  We are very excited for her and what the future holds...which may very well indeed include the title of "Miss Rodeo America 2016!"
