The Latest Updates on The Missing Children in Idaho
No parent should ever be in the dark as to where their children are. Ever.
Unfortunately, there are millions of cases of parents reporting their children missing. According to MissingKids.org, the toll-free number for missing children (1-800-THE-LOST) has received over 5 million calls in the last 37 years. To add to the horror, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children reports that "1 in 6 of the more than 25,000 cases of children reported missing to NCMEC in 2021 who had run away were likely victims of child sex trafficking."
There's no telling as to what the number is for 2022 just yet but in 2021, the NCMEC reported that they received 94,428 calls. To put that number in perspective, that is about 258 calls from families a day that are reporting their loved ones missing.
With the holiday season upon us, families of missing children are facing one of the most painful times of the year. A silver lining in having a resource such as the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children is that the NCMEC has also assisted in the "recovery of more than 376,000 children."
We've gone through their archives to share with you the latest updates on the missing children of Idaho. Sadly, there are some cases that remain unsolved despite being opened decades ago. It is my hope, as a father of three, that sharing these with our audience will help spread the word and conjure any information that can reunite these children with their families.
If you would like to further educate yourself and your family on how to stay safe, spot suspicious behavior, and more, you can check out NCMEC's resources here.
