The Meridian Temple will be open to the public this Saturday for an open house. The newest LDS Temple will remain open for tours till November 11, 2017.
The Temple is Idaho's 5th and the 158th temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day-Saints. It will serve members from 16 stakes living in southwestern Idaho and eastern Oregon.
The entire property size is almost 16 acres filled with landscaped lawns, 2,792 shrubs, 768 succulents, 1,433 perennials, flowers, and evergreen trees. Featured among the flowers are lavender day lilies, spirea, hydrangea, roses, and lilacs.
The walkways are arranged in a circular form around the temple, helping to frame it within the overall context of the temple.
