My Christmas stuff is up.  Temps were in the 60's Saturday so I had my hubby dig the  decorations out of the shed and then (with the help of my youngest son Kody) I put the tree and all the trimmings up on Sunday.  (Hubby also requested decorations be up before his birthday this week.)

Next up, Thanksgiving.  Not sure if we'll throw a turkey in this weekend or next or on Wednesday the 26th.  It just depends on what works for a majority of our family's wacky schedules.  We will NOT celebrate Thanksgiving on the 27th because we have too many retail workers in the family and the hubby and I are volunteering at a fundraiser for our "Christmas Wish" charity that morning.

Not sure when we'll gather the family together to exchange presents and all that for Christmas.  We might do that somewhere between Dec. 26th and the 31st.   This gives our older kids the chance to visit with their significant others families and also they get the chance to capitalize on the after Christmas sales in case they need to finish their gift shopping.  The Lord's birthday wasn't on December 25th anyway so, although we take time to honor his birth on that day,  we don't feel as though we are committing some kind of sin by postponing the party aspect of that day.

I am "Traditionally Un-traditional" on purpose.  Things come up, opportunities knock (such as the chance to earn holiday pay) and it's important to be flexible.   Getting bent out of shape about a date or holiday on the calendar and letting that dictate what I will or won't do on any given day is just not something I let stress me out.  To frantically rush about and have hard and fast rules/ times/dates for each and every holiday...now THAT would stress me out and zap all the fun out of special occasions.
