Scott Tibbitts, a rocket scientist believes he has created a device that could put an end to texting and driving. After losing a friend in a car accident due to a distracted driver who ran a red light because of texting, Scott is now fixated on finding a way to prevent another death from texting and driving.

Scott Tibbitts was scheduled to meet with Dave Sueper, a fellow business-man (engineer and father of two), but the other guy never showed up. Scott learned the reason for the no-show was because of a car accident that took Dave's life. The accident that left two children without a father was 100% preventable. A teenage driver had been texting while driving and became distracted. The teen ran a red light and collided with Dave's vehicle.

In an interview with Katie Couric, Scott said he thought, "There has gotta be something that will fix this technically...and this feeling — it just wouldn't let go." Scott had recently sold his space company and was looking for a new professional challenge. That is how Groove was born.

Groove: Creating focused drivers at the carrier level.

Groove is a device that attaches under the steering wheel that connects the car to the internet and knows when the car has been started. At that point, the driver's cell phone provider is notified which, then, blocks all messages until the driver has turned off the car.

Scott is currently attempting to get all cell phone providers on board as well as raising funding for production of the device. See more HERE.
