Even if your bracket is busted, the NCAA March Madness impact for Boise businesses will be felt for a long time to come, and it's been a big positive for the Treasure Valley.

The first round appearances of teams at Taco Bell Arena and the subsequent visit from faithful fans who traveled to Boise to see the games brought a huge extended weekend for our local economy.

Hotels and restaurants were booked solid, and city leaders are hoping this will be a regular destination for the tournament and other events like it.  They say the growth of downtown and recent hotel and restaurant additions have made it an even more attractive location for events like the tournament.

The Boise Convention and Visitors Bureau estimates that the tournament this year injected about $15 million into our local economy.  At this point, the next appearance of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament is in 2021.
